Insurance for Musical Instruments
Musical instrument insurance is recommended, but not required, for students in the Rice Middle School Band.
There are generally two options for musical instrument insurance.
This information should be available on your rental contract or purchase receipt from the music store. If you are using a school-owned instrument, you can go to "Assigned Inventory" on your child's CHARMS page and print a copy of the usage agreement, which contains the information above.
There are generally two options for musical instrument insurance.
- Contact your current homeowner's or renter's insurance carrier to inquire about coverage. It is important when doing this to consider deductible amounts and limits of coverage. An additional rider is sometime needed to adequately cover an instrument.
- You may wish to purchase coverage from a third-party carrier specializing in instrument insurance. Plano ISD recommends Music Agency, Inc., a division of The Anderson Group.
